Following a dominant 1998 High Times Cannabis Cup season while both were still associated with Green House, Shantibaba exited that company and founded Mr. Nice Seedbank as a Dutch company; Neville soon left Green House as well. To distinguish their original genetics from similarly named lines elsewhere, they renamed key cultivars (e.g., White Widow → Black Widow; White Rhino → Medicine Man; Great White Shark/Peacemaker → Shark Shock). In 1999, after Dutch rules changed regarding seed production, Mr. Nice moved production to Switzerland while maintaining distribution legally into the Netherlands, continuing its breeder-led approach through the 2000s.
